When their missiles fly before yours

Welcome to my Beyond Visual Range Engagements page. There are many long-range anti-aircraft missiles featured in the final version of Flanker 2.5x. This page deals with two most commonly encountered missiles : the American Phoenix AIM54 and the Russian R33E.

Both of these missiles are launched at ranges where an opposing Su33/27/Mig29 (the aircraft featured in Flanker 2.5x) cannot even obtain a target lock-on, let alone a missile launch. Therefore, there is an obvious need to know how to defend against these two rather lethal pieces of hardware.

What I have tried to put together here is my view of how to go about doing this. I have four training videos (one with voice commentary), quite a few screenshots and some Excel tables and charts with data taken from those same videos.

I am in no way a physicist and my opinions will possibly be challenged by people better versed in this matter. But my aim here is to make things simple to the people that are new to Flanker and who will hopefully be happy owners of LOMAC.

In this mission you will be heading NorthEast to face four flights spaced 3 minutes apart.
